What If I Am A Cancerian?

Astrology is a very interesting subject of study, though more often misunderstood because of superstitious beliefs and notions. Many people look Zodiac signs to evaluate their characteristics, feel joy to see the similarity between written words and their lives. However, the fact is, most of the prediction of Zodiac Signs are generalized and very shrewdly manipulated.

There is an ocean of difference between Oriental and Western Astrological study. In Oriental system Zodiac signs are not principally foreseen by birth date and sign. Signs are not governed by Sun but Moon. But in Western system of astrology, Zodiac are governed by Sun that's why called Sun Signs. In Oriental system Sun Sign holds little water rather believe in Lagna (ascendant). It is the first moment of contact between the soul and its new life on earth. One's ascendant, or lagna, is the degree of the sign, which is rising on the eastern horizon at the time of one's birth.

I will come later on about Cancer Zodiac sign but before, I would like to mention an other interesting aspect of Indian astrology.

According to Hindu/Vedic astrological science, Human beings are principally categorized into three Ganas:

1) Dev Gana ( Divine )

2) Manushya Gana ( Human )

3) Rakshas Gana ( Demonic )

In ancient times these Ganas were significant during matching of a girl and boy horoscopes for marriage purpose.

Physically there are not much differences between people of these Ganas, but usually Dev Gana person displays a serene countenance on face with a calm mind. They are not much inclined towards gluttony and generally sleep less. They have an artistic bend of mind and peace loving. They are emotional and romanticize everything in their lives. Caring, protective, emotion, sensitivity, calmness are the prominent traits of this Gana.

The Demonic or Raksha Gana people are aggressive and sensual. They have a great libido and mostly inclined towards carnal desires. They are physically beautiful, powerful with vigor. Human or Manushya Gana is between those two extremes.

Zodiac Cancer Traits

Cancerians are emotional (mostly to the point of overemotional), intuitive and imaginative. There are clever people but seldom outwardly show their shrewdness. They are cautious about relationship and often protective to the point of irritation. They are sympathetic, which more often leads to misery in their own lives.

On the darker side, they are moody, changeable according to circumstances, touchy, sentimental, and unable to let it go any emotional jolt. Most often they prefer solitude, which make them unpopular among friends.

They pretend to be cold, thick-skinned, obstinate, energetic and inspired. Inside they are emotional and having philosophical profundity. They are like water, very well suited with changing circumstances, also a negative trait for them, as vulnerable to tricky situations. Other problematic feature of this sign is the imaginative capability, which leads to fantasy, sometimes trying to shape their lives to fit some romantic ideal. They are artistic, proficient in some form of art like visual art, writing, singing or possess cognition in all.

The biggest problem of this type of people is their loneliness, which they sometimes force on themselves. They prefer solitude but have excellent oratory skills and that's why popular among peers. They have sharp ears, critical faculty and tendency to be emotional that may make them overact. They throw an impression of being down-to-earth and fascinated by occult, and are more open to psychic influence than the average.

They dislike aggravating situations, failure, opposition, being told what to do and advice (good or bad).
